My Artinger/DAG Hollowsport will be complete for my Birthday WooHoo (Thanks Cliff and Matt)
I got the email this morning!
Now the hard part, I need to select a finish and here is where you all come in. Give me your ideas and opinions, I need help!

What should I do?

Here are the specs:
Ribbon flamed sapele top (denser cousin to mahogany with the exact tonal characteristics, great natural ring and very deep ribbon figure), mahogany sides and neck, 25" scale, ebony board, rippled ivoroid binding with paua abalone 'faded' body accents (the abalone is faded in and out of the curves as an accent which carries over to the fingerboard and headstock), and in addition to what you see, we're planning to do matching sapele pickup covers ...it'll have 2 Duncan 59 hums, master vol, master tone with coil tap push pull, tune-o bridge and ebony tail.

Here are the pics:

A piece of art, for sure! I'd keep it as natural as it can get - maybe some stain to bring out the wood caracter but other than that just a clear coat.

You and I are on the same page. Cliff suggested a violin finish.
Either way this one is going to be a beauty.

I'll quote Frank Lloyd Wright as well, since everyone knows he was a monster guitarist. :D

"Never cover a beautiful piece of wood with paint."

Both my Thorns are Natural, and I never regretted it for a second.
Congrats, though, that one will be spectacular whichever way you go.

I would also do a light stain. I love the f-holes with the inlays!

I would suggest a classy look, like on this Eastman:

Count me as another for a hand rubbed finish; that's a really nice piece of wood, painting it would be a sin. Congrats, J!

I'd leave that curvaceous beauty a blonde!

You can't go wrong with black. I would suggest as black as possible. Preferably not transparent.

Cangratulations, looks really outstanding so go natural wood.
You can ask for C37 treatment http://www.ennemoser.com/ , that is if you believe this voodoo.;)

I like all of your comments, even the Black one Teddy!
I went with something Matt calls Carmel.
I will get some shots up, but it will be a little lighter then the eastman, and not orange. It should really turn out nice.
For all of you coming to the Crossroad party Matt will be there, so you'll get a chance to meet him.

Amen to that. Looks like a gorgeous instrument, congrats!

What a beauty!!!
I'd say gold hardware - it cries for gold hardware. As for a pg, I'm not sure: it would hide some of that beautiful top and inlays around the f-holes but OTOH a beautifully designed pg might put the icing on the cake.:)

Jason, that thing is gorgeous!! Gold would be nice. As for a guard, I'd go with a tort guard like on an L-5 or Byrdland; class all the way.

wow.

I would try not to go with a pg on that. I would suggest a nice pewter/nickel finish hardware. Gold on a guitar, to me, looks cheap and tarnishes.

What a beauty! I would go with nickel hardware. Gold would look nice but the plating wears off too easy.

I would go without a pickguard. If I were to do one, I'd go with wood that matches the top like Heritage uses.
