Hi,

Ah that's actually funny. The first five of those Aleks, were also some of my earliest music memories and maybe Apache was the first time I recognized the sound of electric guitar.

Hm, must go listen to more Cream also cool Czerwone Gitary :)

Have fun

Hey Aleks,

Would you post some more of your highlights? It seems many of your memories I also remember Anyonelse?
I got thinking and remember I have no record collection- my elder brother bought every new record there was and all my friends had vast collections and even one of my best friends was a recordimporter......really why would I have any records at all?:D

I remember one day my elder brother asked me what music I liked- I was 6 or 7 at the time and then he played all kinds of music from his collection and asked again and to what I liked what it was in the music I liked?
I'd go I like this sound that sounds like a piece of cardboard taped to the backwheel of a bike.........
and he told me it was a guitar and that it had six strings, just so I could add that to education........
But you know I never learnt the titles of songs, just the melodies and parts of composit sounds, always focusing on what it was I liked. There were always these small parts in textures that made the difference.

Even as a musician I hardly knew the titles or even the lyrics of the songs I played, just the sounds that it needed, and when people asked me to play a song from the bands I played with, I could only tell that I could play my part, but you're not going to recognize the song.......except for signature parts:eek:

Oh, OK I know that's somewhat embarrasing, but that's the way it is. So now anybody want to exchange highlights? These days I realize I can't really search youtube for a melodypart- I'd have to know the artist and the title of the song....oh well.

Thanks
BJ

I have a tie dye and a yellow shirt. Proves it's not the shirt that makes a guitar player. But I've been known to play mean green tambourine wearing a flowery robe...in my dreams...

40 years ago almost to the day, the free world was treated to simultaneous global satellite TV braodcast:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxTpsIVzzo

While behind the Iron Curtain we were treated by state TV to ideologically correct "quality entertainment":

Luckily for us the times they are a'changing:

Hi

Right, I know Uncle Kent, to the far left, didn't totally approve of the colour of his shirt, though that did not stop him from playing accordion in this quartet

BJF,
Started going backwards through your picks and came across Sparks doing 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us.

WOW - all I can say is thanks. I'd forgotten how fun Ron & Russ were.
