Yep, a Leftee amp.

It's a Weber 6M45 kit with KT66's and a few upgraded parts. Just finished it tonight. Came out really well, IMO.

This one belongs to a friend. I've got an 18w head under way for myself.

Thanks! It does "JTM45" pretty well. It has the Weber Copper Can rectifier in it, but I wired that socket for heaters too so the owner can run a GZ34 if he chooses.

Upgrades were:

Mallory 150's
Cliff input jacks
Switchcraft output jacks
Solid core heater wiring

This particular one has the higher headroom OPT. It's pretty warm and fat.

With any luck, my 18w head will be done this weekend. I've got it started, but stopped to concentrate on this amp.

Cranked her today. What a roar!

Dimed it with no inputs and checked for hum and hiss. No hum at all and very little hiss.

We're getting back to the Heath Kit days. We'll have to change TONEfest to Bring-Your-Ownfest.

Thanks! I have an 18w under way too. I've really slowed down on it. I travel during the weeks (EVERY week - posting from Missoula, MT now) . I hoped to have it done to ship down to TF. One of these years I'll have the timing right...

I've been threatening Nick with an entry for at least 3 years now. :o

Gratuitous 18w pics...

The owner of this amp sent me a new sound clip. He is using it in a really different setup for himself these days. Using his HotPlate as a load and re-amping the signal. Check out the "Villanova Junction" clip linked on the page.

Admittedly it's a little drippy, but it captures the vibe pretty well, IMO.

Eric,

That's a great sounding JTM45. I know the blonde adds a lot and MP does a nice job too.

Thanks Nick.

I invited MP to this place. Don't know if he joined. Haven't seen him here.

No beer was involved in that revelation. :D

I've about got that 18w done. The buyer doesn't want the badge on it though. Can you imagine that!?!?!?!? :p

Actually comtemplating doing a small run of made-from-scratch Boggy V's. That's probably over-powered for your desires.
