ok, camera's down, so words'll have to do.

i got this thing free from my old amp tech, it's an Altec 12". no back cover, white frame, magnet and all else is black, red and black terminal grabbers (not a strip) like you get w/Altecs & E-Vs & JBLs. i pretty much fried it with my Komet, sent it to Ted Weber for recone & ID and he did a beautiful job - but forgot to ID for me...anyway:

only identifier is an ink stamp on the edge of the frame: a black box with black "AL" at top half and "14" below that. the left edge of the box is worn away, so i'm thinking this might be a 414B (8-ohm) and the first "4" is worn off. if so, it's got AlNiCo V mag and is only built for about 25w rms.

or it might be something else. have searched the Altec and Lansing official & otherwise sites, but looking for some confirmation.

thanks in advance,

Sounds like a 417. Ceramic mag, unlike the earlier AlNiCo ones with can-like cover. I've got one that came in my 1977 Mark I Boogie. No longer have the Boogie, though.
