Does anyone still use Barcu Berry pickups on their acoustic guitars? I just found one of them in my guitar case that I must have bought about 20 years ago and it still works great. Is this company still making pickups because I haven't seen them in any music store display case's?:D

They're alive and doing well. They even made some new developments since you bought yours 20 years ago :)

The B.B.s are cool, but for my money, I'd take the K&K Pure Western or Pure Western Mini if I were looking for a contact pup. Hands down the best contact pup system I've ever heard. Instead of using a single pickup, the Pure Western system uses three individual contact pups that mount directly to the guitar's bridge plate. The system can be used with or without a preamp and the tone is pure and natural.

Ha, I haven't heard the name Barcus Berry in years. I still have mine from 20 or so years ago and it still works great. We used to refer to them as our "Marcus Welby" pickups :-) Not sure who decided to call them that but it stuck.

I checked out Barcus Berry website and the pickup I have isn't made anymore. Too bad because I would have gotten another one. It is square shape, black in color and has a clip on the back that you slide the pickup onto the end of the sound hole close to the bridge. There is a thin cable with the jack attached that you tack onto the end of the guitar and plug your cord into. How simple that is and it sounds great! I wish it was still made.
The name Barcu Berry is written across the pickup.:D
