I see Toyz and the Gear Page both have similar statements up, what gives?

What statements, where? There was this dog cloning thread that in the end went sort of xenophobic and hypocritical... other than that I don't know...

LOL
Not the cloning thread which was a joke. How can cloners of Marshall's, Fenders and Dumbles have a problem with Nik? Everything is Nik's fault right? LOL

I was referring to the cease and desist on TGP and Musictoyz and now on HC regarding Fuller and Paul C.

Can someone please explain? I don't know if it's a language problem, but I don't understand.

Thanks,

/Joakim

I didn't catch all of the content that was apparently quashed, but what I gather is this:

Fulltone's new GT500 pedal has a distortion and a boost, independent and in switchable order. Fair enough. It uses a wah-type inductor in the tone stack of the distortion side. Fair enough. It claims to be the first pedal ever to have order-switching. Oh well. Perhaps so.

But specifically, the schematic and choice of components used in the "boost" side of the GT500 are claimed by Paul to be a mod of his own invention to the Mu-Amp booster circuit, which started life as an application note for mosfets--correction: fets--many decades ago, then became a booster circuit by Jack at AMZ, then found its way into FullTone's lineup as the Fat Boost. The mod is an extra transistor stage with an adjustable bass control or something like that, yeah? But the particulars of the component choices and specific values used point to Paul's mod and not an independent invention by Fuller.

None of that is illegal, but it is of questionable morality to those who consider FullTone's profitable exploitation without giving credit to the originator(s) of the ideas.

Now will we have C&D's here too? I apologize, Paul, if I've stepped on your toes by speaking for you. Let me know if you'd like this post edited--I don't want to put words in your mouth.

But I don't see a notice on HC. ??

No C&D's here!
I figured that is what happened, there were rumors floating in cyber space for a while now. Paul is one of the good guys!

I would write more but this band called MIKA is on GMA and I am speechless really I am :D

What is "C&D'"?

What is "C&D'"?

/Joakim

It means "cease and desist" (upphör och avstå från göra samma sak i fortsättningen)
Let's say you discover someone cloning Fetto, you will ask your lawyer to send a C&D letter to the cloner.

Hi,

Oh, the thread about clones is open -it needed to be cooled off a bit though as some, not Nik of Ceriatone, but some got somewhat upset and resorted to namecalling

Here goes

Last post on thread

I am sure there are others too.

Yes indeed it does appear to be a conflict between two parties and hopefully that can be solved in a civil manner off boards.

What one might hope for is a resolution that is of benefit for both parties.

Oh and the SRPP could easily be realized with FET's as noted in some application notes e.g. National Semiconductors'.......

Although I do find it interesting that Mike Fuller found it necessary to hire a 3rd party EE to "clarify" the situation. But in any case, this issue appears to be put to bed and done. And so I also add my own apologies for the editorializing I did in my previous post on the matter.
