Hi Everyone,
Its great to participate in a gutarist community and share hopes, dreams, ideas, gear and expectations.I am an Old Fart at 64 been playing fior 25 years, started a bit late in life but theres still a lot of life in the old dog yet !
I am a die hard Dave Gilmour fan was born and raised in England leaving for Oz in 1979.
I play mostly in Church with some great musicians and singers every Sunday. We have an electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keybourd drums and four singers at a time.
Guitars used (Electric) Gretch Stock White Falcon,Stock Gibson Blueshawk,Modified Fender Telecaster,Korean squire strat.(Acoustic) Ovation,Zion,Maton 80,Gibson CL20 Deluxe.
(Amps) a Laney LC15 and a Laney VC 15.Also a POD xt Live.
I use an AER Alpha acoustic amp with a Fishman Aura imaging blender for my Gibson CL 20 Deluxe which has a Fisman Matix Natural 1 peizo installed.
We hold Church in a Theatre setting with full stage designed for acoustic performances.Oh boy the acoustics drive you nuts especially with the drums.(We have a perspex cage now big improvement) We are able to get away with miked 15 watt tube amps and are well established in the mix,no problem.Anything larger and the electrics would blow the house down with the lousy acoustics.
My gear:1999 Mexican Nashville Tele modded with two SD Atiquities Hot for Strat Neck & Middle with a SD Antiquity Bridge for Tele.I have had the electrics modified using push pulls on both volume and tone.
This gives me standard Strat and Tele 5 way positions in parallel (single coil) and four positions in series with the push oulls out.(Not hummer but much fatter and useable tones).
Have installed an American bridge plate and saddles, which increased sustain something fierce, upgraded 250k pots,Scaller locking tuners, graphtech nut and string trees.
I play through a Laney VC 15 which I have had now for 3 years. Before that I had a Fender Blues Junior,a great class A amp but not flexible enough for me I thought at the time.Wish I hadn't sold it Ho Hum......
Effects used: Boss GE7 EQ>>>Crowther Hotcake>>>Cusom Fulldrive 2>>>Fulltone Dejavibe>>>Fulltone Choralflange>>>Boss DD20>>>Boss Volume Pedal>>>Amp (Don't use a Wah at this time).I find that I need EQ on the guitar signal before the effects to help control some of the extreme high frequencies that impede a focused lead sound.Tried the GE7 after the FD2 with no difference.
This works for me at this time.I can get some of Daves sounds from The Wall and even Dark Side with this set up but lack the Fuzzface and Muff Factors.
The Hotcake can deliver fuzz which is acceptable but its not in the league of the triangle muff from the 70's.However it does deliver a credible overdriven amp breakup sound, tight overdriven lead and superb cleans. My main pedal for boosted cleans is the FD2 on the Compcut setting, really huge.I had a Scotts Crispy Cream treble booster, which was great but I found the FD2 was more than capable especially using the 18 volt DC option.
I have just ordered a Pink Flesh from Marc and I am very expectant of great results from the reports I have heard.I was looking at vintage Muffs for over a month but got the jitters at how much of a "Tool box in the Cupboard" it might be to work in my chain, not to mention the outrageous cost. Then I came across Shreddys pedals.....this has to be the answer !!
I can only find one clip on U-Tube with the Pink Flesh so hopefully more will come though.Might even do one myself once I get the hang of it once it arrives.
Something else of interest has anyone with a Tele found that rolling the tone back produces a compressed and focused lead sound, almost only at high gain settings but it is a big sound that I use frequently. Its not so good for rythm though as the dynamics are removed.

I have some other gear that I will be off loading soon.
Brand new Keeley TS808 Tube Screamer Trus Bypass,Indy Guitarist Pinnacle 2,true bypass,,Baggs Para Acoustic DI and a brand new Baggs MI Active Acoustic sound hole pup.

I have voted on the Pedal poll and would be interested in the views of other forum members.

Great Stuff guys....
Bye for now.

Hi K-Man thanks for the welcome.

I guess I will just have to spend a little more time acquainting myself with navigation and "How To Do" functions on the site.

There's a lot to look at with not enough time.

I would really like to put my guitar picture up on my page.

If this is what I have to send to someone....how do I do this ???

Its 5pm in Sydney Wednesday afternoon,I can hear you all snorin' in your sleep from here at 2am your Wednesday morning,in Chicago at least.I guess that would be central time ???

Anyway we have just been hit with a couple of scorchers to kick off spring up in the high 20's 27/28 Deg C this last couple of days.I guess its going to be a hot summer !!!

Bye for now........
