Just came over from The Gear Page after realizing that one GAS-inducing forum simply wasn't enough. Happy to be here and looking forward to making some new friends....

Best,

Doc :)

Ah, the good doctor... I know your face! Good to see you here.

Good to see I'm not the only TGP'er finding my way here...

Hi Jono,

Yes, I know yours, too. Good to see you. I think you're going to love your EGDM. I've just spent about 10 days with one, and it's absolutely stunning. What an amazing pedal. If memory serves me, I think you were wanting one for your Matchless? It should be a perfect mate.

Cheers,

Doc :)

Yup, looking to just get a full blown huge VOX distortion through the DC30 - think the chorus of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" from any of U2's recent live DVD's.

Great to see you here man! So what are you running your EGDM into?

Well, I actually don't have one of my own yet. A friend let me borrow his for a couple of weeks, and I've been playing with it extensively. I just love it, and plan on getting one of my own. I use an amp made by a guy in Chicago who is just getting started, Reis Amplification. It's basically a 50 watt JTM-45 Plexi. It loves pedals, and the DRD and EGDM both sounded great. I got the DRD first, as that was a more necessary sound for me. "Stadium sound" I call it.

I think you'll love the EGDM into your DC-30. I've played through those before, and I think it will be a winning combination for you, especially for the type of tone you describe. Just be patient with it, as you'll need to spend some time learning how the voice knob interacts with the distortion knob. That pedal is a real work of art, IMHO.

Cheers,

Doc :)
