Hello folks.
After years of misadventure I have come up with a great match. Whilst always being a Gibson player, a couple of years ago I purchased a second hand Gibson les paul custom 1957 historics reissue. I have been using it through an array of different amps until very recently I purchased a Fender Blues Deluxe. Considering the reletave inexpensivness of this amp, I have got a monster tone that I am soooo happy with. I know people will be thinking "bah, cheap Mexican amp" but I have to tell you this thing is just totally awsome. After years of playing Mesa Boogie, Marshall and other good stuff, I have discovered this amp has an excellent clean and driven sound, and for hi gain...MXR double shot takes me straight there with no probs at all.
Hate to gloat but I have the greatest tone at the moment and am so chuffed.

There's absolutely no reason why an amp MIM or being PCB shouldn't sound great! Are you happy with it? So be it! BTW- welcome! :)

Thanks for the welcome Sliding Tom. I am very happy with this amp. What is PCB?particle board?
Where abouts in germany are you? I get over there from time to time, quite like it. I saw you shellaced your amp, looks good mate, I used the clear zinsser shellac just to protect the tweed a bit, still darkened it up a bit. Yours is a blues deluxe?

Catch you later

Gav

PCB - printed circuit board (vs. PTP - point to point wiring). Some people claim that a PCB amp just can't sound as good as a PTP which is BS (BS - bullshit) IMO. I'm close to Hannover over here, northern part of Germany.
Now I'm puzzled - where did you see a pic of a tweed amp of mine?

Isn't your amp pictured on the guitar hub? You aged it with amber shellac?
Havn't been to Hanover. PCB seems to be just fine, no BS lol.

I purchased a Fender Blues Deluxe. .

I have/had one of those and enjoyed the beegeebee's out of it. Lent it to the other guitar player in my band 7 years ago and now I have only visitation rights on nights we play.

He takes absolutely no care of his equipment and it now looks like it's from the 50's, but in a good way. Love the clean channel - never cared for the drive channel, but I play with single coils so I don't know and guess I never will now know if it would take to buckers.

Alas,

MelvinDale

It loves the 57 classics in my LP Custom.
