Those of you who know me, know that I have been through a lot of guitars in the past year... I mean a lot.
Gibsons:
ES-335
ES 335 59 Historic
R4 Les Paul
R6 Les Paul
R7 LP Junior
R0 LP Special SC
SG Custom Reissue
Fender
52 Tele Relic
Gretsch
Setzer 6120
Setzer Black Phoenix
Silver Falcon
White Falcon
'57 Duo Jet
I think that is all of them...
Anyways... I finally found the right guitar...
An ES-355!!
This is one of the limited run from the Custom Shop with plain maple (mine is black). So the price was quite a bit lower than a normal 355. It is mono with a bigsby, gold hardware... really a beautiful guitar.
I cannot know for sure, but the setup and fret work is great and it plays really smooth. I will get some pictures and clips put together this week.
The tone is BIG and this 355 had the deepest and strongest tone of any of the 335 style guitars in the shop including Historics, 335s, 345s, etc. I played probably 20 different ES guitars... and another dozen LPs.
I really feel like I have reached the end of a long quest and I have the guitar that has pretty much been my ideal guitar, but wasn't available.
As J and Pac know a 355 has long been my "dream" guitar, but they aren't often available outside of the vintage market.
:D I am really happy to have found one.
