On my regular Thursday night gig in DC, we had a very nice surprise last night; we were joined by 5/8th of the legendary Roomful of Blues! Roomful was playing at The Barns of Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA last night and called our pianist and former Roomful alum Mark Stevens to let us know they were coming out. We had a blast!

Here's a pic taken at about 2:00 AM this morning:

Next time we're in your neck of the woods visiting my wife's family in Georgetown, we'll have to check out a gig or two.

Sure thing, man! Just give me a heads up on when you're heading east and I'll hook you up with my digits.

Yeah - R.O.B. - good to have them still around. I have their early albums (anybody remembers what "albums" are? :D) and saw them once live in Chicago at Buddy Guy's "Legend's".

Thirty-seven years and still going strong! They've had a few changes to personnel over the last couple of years and just recently lost trumpeter Bob "Bubba" Enos unexpectedly on January 11th (RIP). Some stellar players have come in and out of that group since it's inception.
