Nate delivered my Lead1 head at ToneFest. I was so excited to get my hands on this little bad boy.
During the break down of tables, etc on last Monday I had about 5 hours to kill so I set up the Lead1 into a 100th Marshall 4x12. I used a Rukangous Duke and thought if anyone were to walk up here I could possibly win the award for the coolest rig ever :)
Donner, Aleksander, Bjorn and Dean all came up and got a chance to see the rig. Don got a chance to play thorugh it and I think he had a grin from ear to ear the entire time.
The Lead1 is a 1/2 watt amp, but don't be fooled it can still move plenty of air. Between the gain and master vol. knobs lie all of your clean and crunch.
I also found the guitar vol knobs to be usuful in cleaning up the distortion.
I want everyone to know not only is this an amp your wife will love you for it is a must have for any studio. The tones are amazing. I ran through the Led Zep catalog and found I could get really accurate marshall tone. The crunch is fantastic and the sustain is really awesome at low vol.
The difference between Nate's Lead1 and all the others I have played is the clean. Nate's clean is clean :), which means you can use it for all styles of playing. All the others I have tried have the crunch but never have a clean.
The amp is covered in vintage looking black tolex with a cloth grill. The knobs are clearly labelled and it has a stand by switch!
It will handle any cabinet and it sounded just as good thorugh my Germino 2x12 with G12's as it did with the Marshall 100th.
The head is small so it wont take up much space and it never got very hot either even after 2 hours of playing.
I think Nate will have to hire some elves because this one is an amp everyone should own :D
Thanks again Nate and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
