Hey guys...relatively new to the forum here. Like what I've seen so far. I am thinking of adding a delay pedal to my ever-expanding pedalboard.
Any advice? The Line 6 DL-4 looks pretty good for the $, but I am not a big fan of modeling-type gear.
Thanks!

How much delay time are you wanting, stereo - yes/no?

Not certain about amount of time, but it will be mono

Well, if you're just going for shorter delays, the Jacques Prisoner is a great pedal IMO - the modulation feature is fantastic, and the repeats are clear and warm.

+1 on what erskin relays.
Ultra quiet, clean, with clear and warm repeats. My only quibble is the pot on the modulation. Too much or too little - not enough subtle control for my taste.
Not enough of a quibble to keep from recommending the Prisoner, however.

Thanks...I'll look into them.
Anyone else?

Advice?
Don't get caught up in the hype of *analog*.
(comming from a person that owns one of the holy grails AD-900)
Live, digital is better. More features, not muddy, etc...
The best I've found so far is the Line 6 Echopark (yes Line 6 ;) )

I respectfully disagree.

I respectfully agree with your respectful disagreement. Live was where my Ibanez AD-80 kicked the DL4 up and down the park, sure the DL4 has the features, but the AD-80's sound is superior to any of the tones from that cold, green monster.
So, in summary, check out the older Analog Delays, especially the excellent Ibanez AD-80. Ebay prices are anywhere between $150 and $300 depending on the example. It runs at 12v, even though it needs a 15v or 18v supply, eats a pair of 9v batteries in 10 hours or so. Sounds wonderful.

I recently got a Boss DD-20 Giga Delay.Extremely diverse. It changes seamlessly between patchs, and can record up to 23 seconds. The other delay units are gathering dust around here:D !

Shame on you for bringing up a digital delay on an internet forum. Everybody knows there's no viable delay that's even worth considering, unless it has a bucket brigade chip...;)

I enjoy my Maxon AD900 immensely. If I didn't have my Maxon, I'd be checking into a Diamond Memory Lane. Got to hear one at a Pedal Fest we did in Chicago back in May, and was absolutely smitten with it.
