If you have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocket, check out the El Dorado guitar straps:

I received the "Plain" Model original width in a beautiful natural tan leather for Father's Day and am still blown away by the comfort and quality. This thing will only get better with age. My yet unborn grandsons will some day be using this very strap.
Pricey, but . . . . . . Highly recommended.

I love those straps. Total high quality, hand tooled & dyed leather, real sheep padding. A+!!

For three-hundo I can play sitting down. I think the El Dorado straps are about as I high as I would go.

Hell, I'm still using the same leather vintage style strap I've used since 1983. I bought it in the Music section of the local E.J. Korvette for $4.00 ;)

I hang all of mine with Moody Leather. They cost somewhere between El D and Ms. Jerri, but they're worth every penny. The shape of the leather really helps to distribute the weight of my Les Pauls.

With the weight of some of the late 70's early 80's LPs out there, it would make a lot of sense to get a nice, comfy strap.

I like Moody too. Pricey, but oh so luxurious.
