Ok, here is the follow up: I placed an order with Dean on the 10th of April it now is the 2nd of May. No strings no reply. He did answer one of my emails to say they had been sent but that was some time ago. I am trying to be patient. Now when I send email it comes back undelivered? Should I be concerned? Should I notify Pay Pal to get my money back or just keep waiting? Seems people like him an say he is a stand-up guy. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have nothing to worry about; trust me. You'll probably see them in your mailbox next week. As far as Dean being "stand up", I only wish that other companies were as customer oriented as he is. I've had a couple of problems in the past but Dean always went the extra mile to remedy any issues.

Just keep in mind that the company is run but a small handful of people, so it will take a little time to get your order. Remember - "good things come to those who wait". :)

Thanks for the reply. I guess I need to work on my patients threshold.

I'm in Germany and the turnover time from order to delivery was like 9 or 10 days - not bad at all, but that was before SOB got such a favorable review in GP magazine and a follow up article on the development of guitar strings. I guess he's been back ordered since then because right at that time all the complaints in several forums about long waiting time started to show up

I'm sure that is probably what is going on. Do you know where he is located? Just curious where the strings are being shipped from.

Ron, if it's any consolation, when my order did ship - which was on a Friday - I had them in hand the following Monday. I'm located just outside of DC, so you're a bit closer geographically than myself. I've been using Dean's product for over 4 years now and am one of his steadiest customers, so as you can see, there's no preferential treatment; just first come, first served. :)

The only thing that is a little odd is that he replied to one of my emails and said they were shipping that day. That was the 19th of April. This is the 4th of May?

Not yet. I did finally get in contact via email. He told me they were next to go out. He said he didn't handle the shipping and had been told that they were shipped. Who knows? that was 4 or 5 days ago, so as of now I'm still waiting but I do believe I will have them in the next day or so. it has been a month to the day.

I will probably change strings this Thursday. Got a back to back 3 night gig to put them to the test.

I ordered a custom set of Snake Oil brand strings from Dean and got them in about a week and a half. I am very happy with the strings and Dean's service.

The strings are a few bucks more but I think they are worth it.

It took over a month for me to get mine still don't know why. I think the order just was misplaced or something. I put them on my little Collings 290 but the single coil hum in the club was just more than I could take. Still waiting to actually test drive the strings.

They are nice but I don't know about waiting long periods of time for them. Haven't tried the acoustics yet. They have been lasting longer than the ones I've been using.
