Just back from his "Farwell Tour" concert. He walked with difficulty onto the stage and sat down with his Lucille. You forget he's 80 yrs old when he plays.
There was a lot of chit-chat between the numbers but all with humour and in good spirit.
He's tone was singing close to break-up with great sustain and feedback control. He played a LabSeries L5 amp, I talked to the backline tech and he said that was what the man wanted.
Surrounded by great musicians BB gave all that his age and health allowed, wish I'l have such vigour at his age.

He's played that Lab series since the 70s. Makes it sound great. I played through one once, sounded awful.

I took my sons to see him back in Oct. 2001. They had no idea who he was. After the show they knew all too well. So glad I had the chance to introduce them to this icon and his music.

Not introduce in person...

I've been wondering how long he'd keep touring. That old boy puts in a LOT of days on the road. I'm glad I've been able to see him live so many times. Always a great show. He needs to just park it a club and let the world come to him for a change.

I was second row for a BB show at the University of Georgia in 1981. Still ranks as one ot THE BEST concerts I've ever seen! Amazingly, it has never worked out all these years where I could take an opportunity to see him again - always something else I had to do when he came to town.

I got to see BB last year for his B-day tour thing. At the time, we all thought it was going to be his last. He was fantastic!
I hope I am still vertical at his age :D
