I just received an e-mail containing this message:
"Dear Member:
Since you have not logged in to The Guitar Hub in over 60 days your UserName has been placed in the Banned File.
To remove the ban you must login and contact ADMIN.
If you are not interested in The Guitar Hub community then no action is required on your part.
Best regards,
The Hub"

Anybody else? FWIW - since I joined I never stayed away for 60 days and have never loged out. So what's happening here?:mad:

Same here.
Others are playing "scare them" marketing too. Got a letter from an insurance company, with whom I don't have any insurance, with headline in big red font: "Your client just filed a suit against you" - it's supposed to be an ad for their liability insurance, which BTW offers very little protection. I called them and said I hope they have good liability insurance themselves as my lawyers will be filing against them for causing undue mental distress.

Yep - I got it as well.
I sent a reply, not that it'll get read of course, saying that I put this site in my fave's so I wouldn't have to do this.

Kinda weird; I haven't received one of these mails. I did notice that the ranks have been trimmed and that the spam postings are virtually non-existant now - although I do see spammers registering at the usual brisk clip.

Fellas, I think what has happened is that admin sent a mass mailer out just to notify those that are legit that to keep membership, you needed to check in....at least that my highly uneducated guess. Maybe JofZ or someone higher up the food chain can clear this up?
