This has to be the biggest rip off since.... the last GC RI :D
For 24K you get a Custom Shop Black Strat 1 of 275. Maybe you get a pink polo shirt with it or a nice pair of loafers

What's the matter with a pink polo shirt?!?!? :D
That is pretty expensive for a new strat.

Nothin wrong with pink, it is the new black, or was that last season lol
I own many shades of pink, but Fender and GC better give me something really, really special with a 24k Strat lol

I know what you mean... maybe a free set of strings and a guitar care kit...
that would sweeten the deal. lol

You have got to be kidding - $24,000 for a new Strat just because it looks like EC's?? For that scratch, make mine a true vintage Strat and keep the hero worship. These gimmicks just kill me
Better yet, if I wanted a replica of "Blackie", I'd give my cash to The Mighty E at Revelator and get a damned nice plank at 1/8th the cost.

Just like the fabled "Crossroads 335" - pretty much gone before C.O.B. the day they were released and up on the Bay before sunrise. Seems the manufacturers know their consumers these days, huh? :p

Amen Mike! Although I have played the Jeff Beck Esquire and the first SRV Relics priced at (I believe) $15K and $25K respectively. I know that a certain person in these parts who just bought a "Super Relic" Stratocaster that's really nice. I've played a few Relics over the years that sounded and felt incredibly good, that said. BTW, Happy Birthday wishes to you this fine morning!
Best,
Dean:)

Thanks for the good wishes, Dean! Another year older and another.........well, year older! :p
I've had 1 good relic Strat that I sold earlier this year, but it still didn't compare to my old '61. However, I found a killer 1997 Cunetto made '54 Strat that was a one-off for the NAMM show that I hooked my friend up with. That plank is a really special guitar and plays and sounds like a dream. It has one of the most comfortable necks of any Fender I've ever laid hands on; I'm thinking about getting the measurments from it and have Relevator make me a clone - it's seriously that good!
Them Fender guys are really making some fine guitars, Teddy just got a Cruz white guard tele in that was one of the best I have seen to date including all the Beck's.
E@ Revelator keeps posting his new work and I am very impressed!

As long as people keep buying them they'll keep maiking them.
It does seem ridiculous but I'm sure we all have our guilty pleasures that we spend "stupid" money on in someones opinion.
I'd love a Duane Allman LP or one of the Crossroad 335's but I'd never spend that kinda dough.
They've got a target market and it seems to work:rolleyes:
