WOW !!
I just got this amp last week....used ... great deal!!
In two tone... cream & green !
I am in love with it.....and have not yet fully explored all the tones that come from this sweet amp!
And the option to amp it down to 1/2 & 1/10 watt...without losing your tone.....make my wife & kids happy....and in the long run...( more practice time !! ) ....will make me a better player...!!
Who else has/had a Carr Mercury!?
What do you think of it?

I had a Mercury. Fantastic amp. I traded it about two weeks ago for a Rambler because I wanted the extra power. You can't beat the Merc for playing at home though.

YO!! Just scored a Mercury myself... I finally gave in to the fact that I don't need a 50 watt amp around... I don't even need a 20 watt amp...
the low volume tones are stellar... it can get loud too, but it is very enjoyable to be able to rip some tube overdriven notes and not have it be deafening...
Mine is RED and is equipped with a KT-66 and a Kingpin speaker... I am thinking a Celestion G12H is in the near future.

it just gets better the more you play the amp... the range of tones is really impressive. Cleans of all sorts to gain of all sorts... great reverb too. I had forgotten how much fun a good reverb is to play with...

I'm really happy with my Mercury, in fact I was playing it when I found this forum (oops and now I'm not playing it any more) Anyway, I'm using it on two watts, clean, with an OCD and an Analogman Mini Bi-comprossor and it's just a terrific lead sound. It's been pedal friendly, likes strats, and HB guitars. even p90s, it's rapidly becoming my favorite amp. I find everything down to 1/2 watt usable. 1/10th is sort of like a parlor trick it's way too compressed for my taste...

I never met a Carr that I didn't like :)
I'm always impressed by these amps. I own a Slant6 and I've played the Rambler & Mercury. Great amps. I also had a Hammerhead for about a year. Another fantastic amp.

There's a new model coming out called the Vincent.

That Vincent looks really sweet. And the mp3's sound great! Just what I need, another amp

I agree... that looks like a great amp. If the power switching works as well as the merc it is a great addition too.
Down to 1/2 watt on the merc really still gives up the goods in feel and tone.

The samples sounded real good to me. Sounds like it would make a great blues amp. I'm curious as to whether the "boost" function is footswitchable or not.
One thing I don't get is the 7w/33w power selector. 7 watts is too loud for home and too quiet for live use.

Maybe for the studio to get that cranked amp tone for lead work without the volume?
I agree 7 watts is too loud for home if you want to turn the amp up... especially through a 12" speaker.

New member here (though I've been a long standing member of TGP and BAM). I gotta' say that the Merc is a great amp. I've had mine for at least 2 years. I think about trading/selling for something else but it does what it does at sane volumes really well. I've been through several speaker changes and I finally settled on a Scumback H75. Righteous tones indeed!!! :D

Hello everyone. First post here. Great forum. I have the Carr Mercury in "The Raleigh" (Black/Cream/Black) scheme. What a great little amp. I bought it new and I'm really enjoying breaking this amp in. It sounds better every time I turn it on. I've been using the Mercury at my last few gigs at smaller venues and I'm very impressed by this amp.
