View Full Version : Member Title's Change em or Leave em alone?
If more the 50% of the members vote we will change the current system used for Member Title's.
What is a member title?
It is a name give to represent X amount of posts, the system is set so the ADMIN can change the X to any amount they want.
There can be 5 levels or 500.
Currently there are 15 and they are all rock stars, they are ranked in cheesyiness or the amount of velveeta that extrudes from their skin when playing. I admire them all, but if you can't find anything in life to make of what is the point :)
Some of our members want the titles changed, the ADMIN is fine with that.
So the first question and we must have 50% or better repsonse to change it is..........
Leave it be or make a change?
(Do not post your changes yet please, that will be the follow up poll)
We want to hear from you!
Thanks,
Jason

what constitutes a member, anyone who's registered? There's only been about 1/2 dozen of us here on a regular basis the past few months.
That said, I don't much care, but I'll vote for the change just to keep you admins on your toes ;-)

Jason, I think that the lack of interest shown in the last poll on this very question said it all. I say leave it as it is. It's all in fun anyway and if the title of a poster is what's keeping them from wanting to contribute....... , so be it. I'm sure that I've been called a number of things much worse than any of the titles on this forum, but that doesn't make me want to go crawl under a rock, either. Just my $.02....

I went from being Kirk Hammet to Yngwie Malmsteen. Doesn't sound like any kind of improvement if you ask me!

I'm a freakin' BASS player fer crissakes...
Change 'em!
The traffic is improving!
It should with all the advertising we have been doing the last 9 months.
It takes time to grow a board and none of us are in a hurry to let this thing get out of control. The guys who are here now are all in for lots of good stuff as soon as we figure out some logistics.
We have some even funnier titles, but I am sure some will not like it. If someone is familiar with Vbulletin please PM me!!!!
Also, if anyone has any ideas for sub forums please shoot me a PM.

I don't care for Mr. Malmsteen or Mr.Vai and feel a little uncomfortable being associated with them. :( So if we could have something else, I surely wouldn't mind.OTOH it's not THAT important to make a big issue out of it.
So if it's gonna be a poll I'd vote for a change.
Edit: just noticed the poll and put in my vote.

I say keep 'em... but it appears I am in the severe minority.
I would ask that Admin release the list... I was looking forward to moving up the scale. So, if you are dumping the guitarists for levels... please share what the list would have been.
Thanks.
Or keep the system as is... it encourages people to post more to get out of being called a "bass player" etc.... :D

Encourages me to post more to get out of being Steve Vai, Hammett or  Malmsteen. As soon as I get to be B.B. I'll stop posting :D

Well I hope B.B. isn't on the list, then!

Maybe we could add our favorite player as our status... sort of our own tribute... that might require some soul searching, but I think we could all pin down a favorite or at least someone who carries the right attitude about guitar playing for their style.

That's a great idea! Pick our own!

Polls are closed and the voting over. There were a total of 11 votes cast as opposed to 15 the last time this was brought up; 4 fewer votes than the original poll.
I vote that we not even bother on another vote on this subject again. All those in favor.............
