So last year I got a beautiful Gold-Sparkle Duo-Jet Gretsch. as far as I know it was made in the 90s in Japan and it plays like a dream. It's got two Dynasonic Pickups and, in general, I really like them I made a conscious decision to get those instead of Filtertrons because we've already got a Filterton guitar in my band.
Having spent a couple of weeks in the studio with the guitar and after a bunch of shows I have one major issue with the guitar: At higher volumes it has a tendency toards nasty, whisteling feedback. I'm far from being great at setting guitars up so I thought I'd ask here: Is there anything to remedy this situation? Is there a company that makes higher-quality replacement Dynasonics? Any help is appreciated!

My rig as of now:
Gretsch Gold-Sparkle (or Burns Marquee) -> Red Witch Fuzz God -> EHX LPB -> voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive -> Fulltone OCD -> Cusack Tap-A-Whirl -> Ibanez PT-707 Phaser -> ZVex Super Duper -> Roost 100W Amp -> Echolette Cab

I am pretty sure that TV Jones makes these as well.
He makes great Gretsch replacement pickups... very true to the original design and character of these pups...
He makes the pups for the higher end Gretsch production models now too.
Check them out for sure.

I think that this whistling feedback might be because your pickups may not be wax potted, the coil(s) will resonate at certain (high) frequencies. Check with a tech or pickup maker what potting will cost (if you like the pickups), it certainly will be less than a new set of pickups. I had the same problem with P 90s nickel cover dogears. After potting them the problem was gone and the pups sound fine.

Yea. Pot those badboys. Especially if they are basically un-usable to you otherwise.
Easy to do yourself really if you're game. Double-boiler type of setup, 80/20 mix paraffiin/beeswax, bring to about 150 degrees, dip to taste (20-30 minutes should do). You can get the paraffin by the pound at Wal-Mart for a buck or two - beeswax at a craft joint like the Rag Shop - or the whole schmeer at the craft place in the candle making supplies. The beeswax is more expensive, but you can always make a candle or two out of the leftover - they burn cleaner than paraffin.:D
DISCLAIMER: You're on your own, be safe, don't use an open flame, I'm not responsibe if you bathe in the 150 degree wax, etc.,etc. Please be careful.
Eddie used an empty "Yuban" coffee can - might want to search eBay.

Well thanks for the suggestions - I guess I'll be passing them on to someone who might be a bit less likely to just **** these things up. Sometime you just have to admit to needing professional help. Now all I need is a good Pickup tech in Germany...

Germany? - Check Andre at Stauffer guitars - he potted my P 90s - he's a great guy, very helpful!
