I am not saying when you will get it because I have no idea!
Please do not bother Bjorn, Harri, Eero or Dean as they are all working very hard!

All Hub members who post here will have a Delay reserved in their name. I will personally pre-pay for your stompbox!

There are some rules:
1. You must keep this effect, no flipping on Ebay or the Gear Page! (if you do and we will know :) No more SOUP for you)
2. We expect everyone to pay as soon as they arrive! You will be given some time to make payment, but if you fail to pay your box will go to the next in line.
3. A review of the pedal in all its Holy Glory will be expected!
4. If in doubt do not sign up, this is serious biz :D

I will PM every one with payment details once I have the Delays. No favorites, everyone gets them at the same time!

Post away............

Hey J,

My big questions are...

What features will the 2 Stomp/Speed MP Digital Delay have?

Will it have the same maximum delay time (600ms)?

What will be the price of both units (I know this has been asked already)?

I'm sure I'll want the single stomper but these answers might possibly influence my decision of which one to get.

Do you think we could have an answer on these questions before the first delay is out? Some of us may want to wait for the 2 Stomper.

Jason, put me down for one, please. Is it true that MP owners get a discount?:D

Eero
01-13-2007, 10:02 PM
No, no, no... actually it is the other way round. MP owners are the TRUE connoisseurs of TONE and among the chosen few. With the MP you can take the delay into new, uncharted Deep Blue depths and completely new sound universes and hence you have to pay more :D

What a great business/ pricing idea, the better sound you get, the more you pay...Isn't this happening in the IT world? This way, if you are a bad player, we practically give stuff away, but if somebody hears you throw SRV licks, you will expect an invoice from MP Amplification soon...

Hmmm. back to the drawing board...

Thank you Gents,

Hi ALL:
The reason I never posted clips of the Delay from NAMM was that it never made it to the show. Seems UPS doesn't like our friends overseas and they keep screwing up shippments
I can assure you the single stomp version is on the way and it will be some time before the deluxe version is available.
There are photos in the NAMM section of the Delay for those wanting to see it.
Pricing is still not finalized.

We have a few more set aside for members.

Hi Guys:
I spoke to Eero over the weekend and he assured me that:
A) Anyone who has told you the pedals are shipping is wrong :D
B) As soon as he has firm pricing you all will be the first to know :D
C) There is still no official release date for the LGW or Delay

There are rumors all over the net about these new pedals and everyone is looking for information.
There are 2 places to get verified information. The Guitar Hub and MPAMP.com
If you read it somewhere else and it sounds to good to be true, well then it probably is!

If you need to get more information about the single stomp version other then what has been posted by Eero, please shoot me a PM and I will get you an answer if it exists.

If you scroll back you will find the official specs for the delay posted by Eero.

All the best,

Hi,

The MP pedal factory lies in Finland and the pedals are assembled by beautiful finnish women.
I have proto production units sent to me in Sweden to oversee that all is as I have designed.
So far I have seen the LGW and Deep Blue Delay. LGW is as I understand to roll next week, Deep Blue rolls as soon as parts sufficient comes in which would be rather soon.

Thank you for your interest gentlemen

I can't believe I'm just finding out about this. Dean and I were talking about a BJF delay a couple years ago. I'm a huge user of derlay and went out and purchased the SIB Echodrive, which I use about 90% of the time I'm playing.

Soooo, being an exclusive BJFE user, I can't imagine passing this up. Is there some info about this project other than what's in the thread here? I'll keep checking in, but add me to the list if it's not too late.

THANK YOU!

Hi,

As I talked with Finland today, there's still a little time before Deep Blue's are delivered from factory but it's a matter of days maybe up to 14 days. There are also manuals to be written and many other small things.
At the moment there are only a few prototypes and those are let for tests, samples and reviews in an effort to give best information on what the pedals can do and what they cannot do so people can make better decisions wether it is for them or not and will also affect content of manuals and is normal research.

Thank you for your interest

Doc,

Can you tell us a little about the knob configuration and functions?

Thanks.

DocRock
03-05-2007, 06:28 PM
Sure Nick,

It's a 3-knob pedal (like most of BJ's designs) and a footswitch. Such complex sound from such a seemingly simple layout.

Left to right, it's volume / mix; followed by repeats; followed by delay time. The pedal is in a standard-size ELFA box (like most of the BJF line). Has a 9 volt DC input jack, just like the rest...but will also operate with a good 9 volt battery. (BJ says that the battery life isn't the longest, though, so it's probably best to use a power supply.)

The only thing digital about this pedal is the actual mechanism for generating the delay effect...meaning that, unlike other digital delays, the guitar's unaffected signal path is just that...unaffected, no digital conversion or anything like that happening with your dry signal. FANTASTIC, really.

I believe Eero from Mad Professor posted the specifics about current consumption, min/max delay time, and the rest of the more "technical" stuff earlier in this very thread. I understand the max delay time to be about 600 ms...which is the most I'd ever need. The min delay time is VERY fast, and will add an interesting punch to your sound.

Not sure if there's still rooom on the list, but I would like to get in on it as well. Thanks for the reviews from those who've had the oppurtunity to use the pedal already.

Nickcha
03-05-2007, 07:27 PM
Doc,

Thanks for the review and explanation. Now I'm really jazzed. The idea of a well-designed delay in a 3 knob config is very appealing. I loved my vintage BOSS DM-2 (except for that fact that it sucked tone bad, and was limited to 300ms). I'm looking fwd to comparing the BJFE Delay with my Echodrive.

I'm also happy to hear about the non-digitized dry signal.

Cody McLain
03-05-2007, 07:30 PM
I've been really impressed with a friends old DM-2 I've tried out recently as well. Seems to be a little more clear with maybe more headroom or something than my old AD-9. I don't notice the tone suck issue, but I don't mind old Boss pedals being in line. 300 ms is too short though for me. Hope this new delay from Bjorn is the answer.. 8)

Nickcha

The old Japanese DM-2 had a wonderful spacey echo-verb quality.

The pedals are all being shipped to the USA first, sorry!
Yes it will delay you getting your delay, but Eero gave me his word you guys are getting the first batch. We will overnight them overseas if you pay the shipping :)

Once the order has shipped you guys can pay via CC.

Payments will go through Make'N Music NOT The GuitarHub.
Please do not paypal the Hub.
Teddy will personally handle the delays.
There will be a list and each box will be assigned to a Hub member.
If you have not posted to reserve one you will not be able to call up Teddy and buy one from the FIRST batch.
Yes we are going to police this!

Teddy will handle shipping and taxes per his normal business operations.

OK, now the fun part since we want this to be fair and all of you want low S/N's we have to figure out a way to assign the boxes.

What I would like to do is pull a name at random, if that is cool with everyone great. If not, we will simply go based on the replys from my first post in this thread.

The choice is yours!

Yes, I thought the irony was quite high too.....

I sent some pedals over to Teddy yesterday, they should be over to Chicago tomorrow. The rest of the pedals will not take long.

Thanks,

Eero

Is it too late to be added to the list? If not, I would like to be added to the list to acquire a delay. I just saw Fatback's vid on the delay and I now know that I can buy it sight unseen. I hope I'm not too late. I'm always too late. :(

I've just ordered the MP deep Blue Delay from Custom Sounds & as I live in the UK I think it would be easier to get it this way!! BUT thanks for the info. you have provided on this site about it!!

Thanks

Matt
