OK, folks - here's the deal: if, for whatever reasons, you could only have one guitar, what would it be? I'm not specifically asking for one that's in your collection or the one you've been craving for so long. I want to know which model it is you feel the most comfortable with that you'd choose to be the one!.
I'm first: ES 335 :)

Even though I have a few Lesters and a couple of Ricks, if I were made to choose just owning 1 guitar, I'd have to take a Strat. I owned only one guitar for years and it was a 1961 Stratocaster that could handle any gig that I threw at. Very versatile guitars with tons of tonal options at the tips of your fingers. Luckily, I don't have to make that choice anymore and can own as many as I want :D

I am with Tom on this one... an ES-335 would be my choice as well. It would need to have a healthy sized neck, and a bigsby, and be natural finish... :D
You can all see where this is going... lol
Of the guitars I own... the one guitar would be my Linhof. It can handle anything I want to play.
The 335 would have some cool points added

Does a Gibson Doubleneck still count as one guitar?

Yes! I'd see it as one guitar with two necks .:)

I'd love to say an ES-335, Les Paul, Gretsch, or something cool like that. However I would have to go with a Fender Stratocaster. I first learned on a strat and it's always felt and sounded like "home" to me.

I found it last weekend!
I played a Gibson VOS 57 Les Paul Custom at the Spartanburg Guitar Show. Black Beauty, three pickups, and heavier than a Brontosaurus' balls! Yes, I'm convinced, it is the ONE guitar for me.

I couldn't choose just one. If I absolutely had to, I'm a Les Paul guy.

Oh, I haven't bought it yet. I just know that this is the one.
I'll probably have to sell the other 12 to get THE ONE!

I'm a noob so take my opinion with a bucket of salt but I've become a huge fan of semi-hollows with my latest acquisition, a Washburn 335 clone.
Now, I haven't played with a Tele so may be my opinion will change...
By the way, this board seems kinda slow. Not much discussion? I feel like I'm carpetbomb-posting with replies to a few threads at once. :D

I feel the same way. Today is one of those days that I have posted on 4 or 5 threads and here's another.
As for the question, it is a tough one, but I'd have to go with my Heritage
H535. Pretty versatile tone-wise.

Obviously my Washburn is not on the same level as your Heritage but it was upgraded by the previous owner with SD '59 in the neck and SD Pearly Gates in the bridge.
They are AWESOME. I haven't heard of anybody with those pickup combination but they're pretty nice in my guitar. I kinda lucked into them obviously but I recommend them highly.

I'm digging my new Stratocaster more than I want to admit but deep down I know it would be my Les Paul Historic (2001 R8). The tone, the feel, the scale length, the way that hefty body resonates... the fixed bridge always feels like home for my picking hand - so many reasons for me.

Even though I sold two dissapointing 335's this year, it still gets my vote.
