Guess I may be one of the elders (old farts) here. Welcomed Dean's invite to the forum, and signed up. I live on Boston's North shore and have been involved with music since my early teens (I reached the speed limit this May). Played in several local rock bands during my teen & college years 60's-early 70's. Had some great equipment (Gibson LP Deluxe once-owned by J. Geils and a '67 335 TDC, as well as a mid 60's BF Fender Twin) that I stupidly sold for "a song" after I got married and figured my playing days were over (what was I thinking???)
Anyway, I was musically dormant for 10 years, then got into the country-thang, loved the sound of the pedal steel, bought one and self-taught myself to pilot the thing. Replaced a steeler in an existing country/rock band and played steel & keyboards as a musical weekend warrior at local fraternal clubs & bars North of Boston & Southern NH for next 12 years. Band broke up in '92. Sold the keyboard; kept the steel. Got a hankerin' for a 6-string and picked up a sweet LP Classic-Plus w/Bigsby from Texas on Fleabay. Added some mods (R/S pots/caps re-wire upgrade, '57 classic pups, had her Feitenized, and Dean's SOS 10's--of course!!) Sought a good tube amp and chose THD's Flexi-50 (a sweet machine!) and have been diddling and reviving old riffs from my teen years as a "closet player" at home for the past 2 years. No interest in roadwork again, but would enjoy jamming occasionally.
Looking at retirement from lugging mail for 30 years in 2010 (if I last that long!). Am also members of TheGearPage, the Les Paul forum, and Univalve.net forum. Hope to musically learn & share with all of you here, as well. Best to you all!

Awesome, Dean! Let's hook up! I'm only 40 minutes away! I also have Wed. 7/19 off from work and perhaps that'll work into your schedule. Let's touch bases via email.
