Yeah, I've been lusting after a Duke for a year and a half now, finally pulled the trigger on one after the ToneFest. Played a Mojo for the first time, too. Very nice!

Here are a few Les Pauls: 2 Customs, 2001 R9, 1960 Authentic, and on the far right Dean's (aka Pink Strat) 1960 Authentic...this guitar absolutely kills and has a tone very reminicient of Clapton's "lost" Beano burst. So, we named it the "Found" burst. He was kind enough to leave the guitar in my care for a few weeks while he is away! I just got my 1960 Authentic yesterday. Needless to say, Deans burst was the yardstick.

This Swamp Ash body is 2.6lbs and will be a 6.5lbs '56 style faded Blonde Strat with fat C traditional neck and Rolph pups...not quite as ugly as the '62, but I feel I'll be doing my part towards racial harmony.

Who are you using for the finishing of the new "parts" Strat?

Best,

Dean,

Manny from Vintage-Replica.com (http://www.vintagereplica.com/Home.html) is doing all the work on the body and neck. Jim Rolph is winding my pups, George Alessandro is wiring my guard, and I, myself am adding the mojo. ;)

Hi Nickcha,

Gorgeous isn't the word man....SURREAL is more like it. I love the plaintop's tone much better than their flamed counterparts. Now, if I could only grab the picture of it to post here within the window!

Dean:confused:

Nickcha

Dean,

Rotate it 90 degrees (a quarter turn) to the left, and afterwards, size it to 600 pixels across and default the length of the pic, allowing it to re-size in proportion.

Steve,

Looks like you have an "instant Keef" model (1957 LP Custom that is)? Um, yummy! One of the best Les Pauls I ever played was a 1960 Black Beauty with 3 PAFs. Shoulda bought it for $5,000 back in 1994...It had that "Midnight Rambler" thang goin' on in EVERY SENSE if the word!:D

Hey! Good to see you here. Those Alvarez Yairis are really great guitars. The new ones are very impressive.

I did a double-take on that Viper. Boy, I remember those. Here's me with one of the UKIIs. We had 2 of them in the band...and No, I didn't play with the Raspberries. :D

Thanks, Nickcha. Tone of that guitar is very throaty. It's 9lbs. and a joy to play. I only wish I could post better pictures. For some reason I'm having a tough time getting pictures up on this site. Haven't had the problem anywhere else, although most likely it is a "user" thing.

late last week. another crime of opportunity. whoever owned it played it a ton but didn't abuse it at all. it's perfectly broken in and feels much better than the 04. it's funny. it's been around the block but there's still plastic from the pickguard cover under the screws.

it was a stupid purchase but i have a problem...:o and really love SGs.
